Biography
spent 30 years as a senior manager and leader for large corporate businesses. My final role was the IT Director and Board Member for Specsavers, Northern Europe. Prior to that I held a number of senior positions with Boots the Chemist, AAH Pharmaceuticals, Lloydspharmacy, Punch Taverns and Waitrose.
My specialism was delivering technology, but my focus has always been on people - aiming to be an authentic and approachable leader; building and developing engaged and high performing teams; encouraging and supporting individuals to reach their full potential. I built, led and transformed teams of up to 100 people and delivered a number of cultural and organisational change programmes.
In 2020, I became an independent executive/leadership and personal coach. He trained with Barefoot Coaching, one of the UK’s premier coaching organisations, completing a post graduate course in Business and Personal Coaching. I am a qualified Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
My coaching style is to listen carefully to every client and to ask revealing and challenging questions which help them understand themselves, their ambitions and how to work through their personal challenges and often limiting beliefs. I use a range of thought-provoking exercises to help the client to learn more about themselves, see new perspectives, and come to practical and potentially life-changing conclusions and resolutions.
I help leaders and executives to develop their full potential by using all of their unique strengths, values and personality. This means leading and not just managing, being open and engaging with their teams and colleagues, and releasing their own creative energy to become trusted and inspirational leaders.
I also provide career coaching, including coaching people in the later stages of their career, and considering portfolio careers. I help individuals with mental-health and other life challenges, and work for a charity supporting Indian farmers. I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider and support two mental health Facebook groups.

Testimonials
from David’s clients:
“David is a brilliant coach. He is incredibly approachable, open and non-judgmental. I felt I was able to open up to David in our coaching sessions and be honest about the challenges I was facing. I always felt like I was in a very safe space during my coaching sessions with David.”
“David is an excellent coach who combines great listening, genuine curiosity, warmth and humour in a way which makes you feel truly listened to and supported. He reads between the lines, notices small details and draws them out. These observations have contributed to new insights, sparking my motivation, and moving me forward both personally and professionally.”
Feedback a from “Time to Lead” Group Coaching participant:
“This workshop made me sit up and think. Understanding how you behave and why you behave that way is a real motivator when it comes to making changes. David’s tools and techniques were inspirational. Since attending the course I have made changes which have made a huge difference to the way I respect my time and myself. Thank you
