Biography

A high performing Career Transition/Outplacement Coach and CV Writer, offering a wealth of experience and industry insight in all stages of the career transition process; expertise developed from a blended career, built from an earlier operational platform in HR and Manufacturing and more recently as a successful recruitment business owner and Career Transition Coach.

A job search ambassador for professionals and champion of good practice, with the ability to unlock any career transition or job search challenge.

Background
Ginnie Riley  has an extensive background in career transition, including 20 years in recruitment.  Ginnie’s earlier HR career spanned the drinks, automotive and chilled foods manufacturing sectors, including two green-field start ups and the delivery of sizeable recruitment programs.

Following a direct approach and the completion of a world-class training program, Ginnie’s career evolved in executive search, predominately in the food and drink manufacturing sector. In 2007, she set up her own executive search business, recruiting mid-tier professionals across all disciplines in the food and drink manufacturing sector.

Spotting an opportunity in the recruitment landscape, in 2017 Ginnie set up Jobsearchwarrior, focussing on supporting professionals with their career transition on a one-to-one basis and on a much more practial level.  This was a continution of the support she been providing through her recruitment business, and filled a much needed void of support for professionals, particulary around effective job search.

Coaching experience
At all stages of Ginnie’s career, she has been supporting employees, candidates and job searchers with their career transition.  During her time running her own recruitment business, she found she was investing more and more time coaching, guiding and mentoring individuals that were lost, unfamiliar, stressed or just in need of impartial, expert guidance.

This support may have been in the form of coaching to achieve career transition objectives; mentoring to support their career journey or offering easy access to more practical and grounded job search support.

Testimonials

D’s story:
“I had been advised that I was being made redundant by my employer, whom I had worked with, for over 36 years”
I had been advised that I was being made redundant by my employer whom I had worked with for over 36 years. My main goal was getting my head around what was happening and what the next step was to be. My immediate frustration was rejection, self doubt and not knowing what to do. I didn’t really know what to do or where to go. I needed a CV and a good one at that, what constitutes a good one? So much info available online and all contradictory.
An ex-colleague had worked with Ginnie in the past and recommended her services to my ex-employers who engage Ginnie on my behalf.  My employer provided me wih the full outplacement program, including CV recraft, Job Search Strategizing, LinkedIn Consultation and a Coaching Program.
I found the experience of working with Ginnie to be brilliant!  It helped me cope with the situation and turned all the negativity in my head into positives. It really did make a difference, it made me confident and gave me the confidence in handling the next step.
Working with Ginnie, was great and helped me immensely. I was lost and unsure of what the future held for me. Ginnie helped me see what  I had to offer potential employers, helped me navigate the minefield that lay ahead.

W’s story
“It was if someone had switched the light back on my LinkedIn profile and CV”
I was hit badly with the pandemic and struggling to even get an interview, after being very successful in the past. I had mixed reviews about my CV and profile on Linkedin. I didn’t seem to be getting "noticed" and turned to Ginnie for some solid impartial advice, as she had always been a great sounding board in the past.
I had known Ginnie many years ago when we worked in the same business and also when she became a recruiter. She had always been very supportive and knowledgeable about how to get the best results.
I wanted a more impactful CV that got me noticed and highlighted the most relevant parts of my career that would appeal most to perspective employers and would also raise my profile on LinkedIn to any recruiters doing a search.
I have a lengthy career (and CV !!) with a mixture of  permanent and interim roles. I think this was confusing recruiters, making it difficult to see the relevant and important skills and knowledge I could offer.
I didn't know where to start....and I was a bit blind to the issue before I spoke to Ginnie. She was very clear in her feedback and guidance in terms of what we needed to do together to resolve the problems I was facing. I had been getting very disheartened and frustrated before we sorted it all out. I was grateful for her patience and support.
I invested in the CV Recraft and also the Linkedin Consultation.
It was very cathartic and I learnt a lot of new and more modern ways of presenting myself to others and have a better understanding of how others perceive, read and process CV's and candidates. I noticed an immediate difference in responses and interest both from applications and also the number of people who contacted me on LinkedIn. It was as if  someone had switched the light back on my profile and CV.
Now I feel so much more confident when I submit my CV and reassured that it ticks the boxes for the recruiter and gets my profile across quickly and succinctly.
This process fully met all my goals, in all respects and more !!
